Your activities

An activity is a GPS recording that belongs to you — a GPX or FIT file you upload, or a run brought in from an activity provider you have linked, described in Connect an activity provider. It lives under Activities → My activities, attached to your account rather than to any event, and the page needs an account: signed out it offers a Login button and nothing else.

Uploading is half the job. An activity on its own is a track in your own list; connecting it to an event is what puts it on that event’s replay, alongside everyone else who ran the same course.

  1. Open Activities → My activities and select Upload activity. The same button sits in the middle of the page while you have no activities yet.
  2. Drop your file on the box, or select the box to browse for it. GPX and FIT files up to 50 MB are accepted; anything else is refused with Only GPX and FIT files up to 50 MB are supported.
  3. Fill in Activity name (optional) to give the run your own label. Left empty, the name is taken from the file.
  4. Select Upload.

The connect dialog opens on the new activity the moment the upload finishes, so the usual path is to upload and connect in one go. Dismissing it costs nothing — the activity is already saved, and its row waits with a Connect button.

Connecting binds one activity to one event, one class and — where the organizer has published a start list — one runner.

  1. On the activity’s row, select Connect. This is the same dialog that opens by itself after an upload.
  2. Pick the Event you ran.
  3. Pick the Class.
  4. Pick the Runner you were.
  5. Select Connect.

All three lists are ranked by comparing your GPS track against each event’s map, courses and split times, so the entry you want is usually selected already when the dialog opens. Options that scored well are grouped under Matches your trackMatches your splits for runners — and the rest under Other events, Other classes or Other runners. A strong option carries a badge with its score: Best match, Likely or Possible. A weaker one shows the bare percentage, and an option that was never scored shows nothing at all, because no measurement is not the same as a poor one.

The Runner step drops away when there is no start list to pick from — for that one class, or for the whole event. The dialog says which of the two it is and connects your track to the class alone, labeled with your account name.

An event is offered only if your recording ended no more than three hours before the event’s date and no more than 24 hours after it. When nothing falls in that window the dialog reports that no matching events were found yet, offers only Close, and invites you back once the event’s replay is published.

A connected activity becomes one of the tracks on the event’s replay: it is drawn in the Aftershow with the other runners of its class, so your run plays back against theirs. The connection is the only thing that puts it there, and an activity you never connect stays in your own list and appears nowhere else.

Until the organizer opens the replay there is nothing to watch yet, which the row reports as replay pending. Once the replay is open, the event name on the row becomes a link straight to it.

Rows run newest first. Each carries the activity’s name, then the event it landed in once it is connected; underneath sit the start date and time in the time zone where the run was recorded, the distance, the duration, and the name the track wears on the replay.

The badge on the right says where the activity stands.

Badge Means
not connected The activity belongs to no event yet.
replay pending It is connected, but the event’s replay is not open.
connected It is connected and the replay is open.

If you also edit the event your track landed in, a pencil appears beside the name line. Rename on the replay changes the label the track carries there; left blank, it falls back to the uploader’s account name.

The actions menu on a connected row holds two entries:

  • Change connection reopens the picker, titled Change connection, with the current event, class and runner already selected. Save changes moves the activity.
  • Disconnect removes the activity from that event’s aftershow. The activity itself is not deleted — its badge returns to not connected and it can be connected again at any time.
